Although Black Dog Animal Hospital performs most of its services in its clinic, we also do house calls for pet owners in our new Red Wing, MN, location. Sometimes it is better for pets to receive veterinary services in the comfort of their own home.
At-home service is available based on specific needs. For example, if you are elderly or have a disability that makes it difficult to visit our clinic, we'll come to you. Or it may be that your pet either becomes excessively stressed or aggressive toward other animals when vising an animal hospital. House calls are also a wise choice if your pet is suffering from a contagious disease or is so ill that we are providing hospice care in your home. What if you own one or more extremely large dogs that do not fit well in your car? Biggies, including Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds and Bernese Mountain Dogs can receive house calls.
Euthanasia is another service we provide during house calls. Pets are less fearful of meeting with a veterinarian in their own home. The decision to end a pet's life is difficult and made more painful by the pet's fear of animal clinics. In the familiar setting of home, your pet can die surrounded by all the people who love it.
